Leeds blog, and Sheffield news... 26-09-2008 10:21:04

We got a call from the folks at the Cremorne in Sheffield on Monday, and we've been trying to find an alternative venue since then, with no luck. It's annoying as we're on something of a roll just now and the shows seem to be getting better and better, and the performances are matching that.

We don't know why the pub has had to shut down, just for a couple of weeks, but there's been a management change or something, and there was nothing we could do. Best thing to do was to pull the show, and rearrange. They've promised to place posters on the pub saying what has happened and to consult this website for further details. I hope they managed to do this.

Leeds last night was superb. The kind of show people will talk about for ages. A newly opened venue, dead small, and completely rammed with folks, who were surprisingly all very quiet indeed, and as a result the show worked superbly well.

The trip down had been long and we were all pretty tired. We're staying chez Wetherill right now and it's a lovely place, as you might expect. Laura made us a beef meal with potatos and carrots and it was utterly splendid. Ben and Essie were cracking on at the beef into the wee small hours it was that good. I feel like I ate far too much red meat yesterday. So now we've got an unwelcome day off. I will try and get some work done.
