Justin Rutledge

The Local caught this guy at SxSW and couldn't resist his infectious, rootsy hooks and we're not the only ones. Signed to Six Shooter Records, Justin Rutledge?s albums garner impressive amounts of critical acclaim. Justin has also shared the stage with artists such as Blue Rodeo, Dolly Parton, Martha Wainwright and Great Lake Swimmers.
"infectious country folk hooks and lush harmonies." - Now Magazine (Canada)
"Rutledge approaches the words as though they are poems, refusing to highlight their meanings. Instead, the songs demand that listeners find those lines that stand out, turning them over and investigating the nooks and crannies around them until they begin to take on a larger, grander shape." - Vue Weekly

Amelia Curran
Amelia Curran on Myspace
Amelia Curran is a seeker. Nearly a decade ago she left St. John?s for Halifax, but still pined for Newfoundland every single day. Curran knew it was finally time to make a record at home. Over the past two years she recorded with Don Ellis in various caverns in St. John?s, the city of legends, from the abandoned CBC building on Duckworth Street to an old farm house on the fringes of town. For Curran St. John?s captures the essence of her inner huntress.
A songwriter by trade, but a writer at heart, Curran believes language is everything. She describes the craft of song-writing as an act of ?expressing the inexpressible, a means of describing the indescribable.?
