Valgeir Sigurdsson (Live)

Already this man deserves a medal having worked with Björk in the engineer’s capsule for almost a decade and staying patient with Lars von Trier on the soundtrack for Dancer in the Dark, a project which must have felt ten years long. Now he’s branched out with his own record label and a debut album which manages to breach the sonic wall dividing stark electronic mastery and genuine human emotion.

Animal Magic Tricks (Live)

Fisher Price tinkle-pulses and beautiful, scarred words, a voice, possessed of a purity of tone and wooziness of timbre to match dream-pop all-time greats like Galaxie 500's Naomi Yang or Cocteau Twins' Elizabeth Fraser

Liz Green (Live)

Liz Green has come a long way in just one year considering she has only released one single, the acclaimed ‘Bad Medicine’. She has hit everyone’s ‘one to watch’ radars from the Observer Music Monthly to Zane Lowe on Radio One. Added to this, after gracing the Mojo BBQ at this year’s SXSW, Liz impressed so much that the magazine listed her number one in their top ten acts to watch this year.

Olivia Chaney (Live)

She blew us away at Folk Idol and we're delighted to have her back. Olivia Chaney is one to watch this year.

John Matthias (Live)

Like Tuung, Matthias might colour his music with slight electronic shades, provided in here by album (Stories From The Watercooler) producers Coldcut, yet his songs are firmly in the folk story-telling tradition even when they're about resolutely contemporary concerns, be it the man determined to drive out a trendy Londoner in King Of A Small Town or the credit crunch in Viper’s Nest. Nancy Wallace (Live)

Nancy Wallace is a singer and musician hailing from Suffolk, but now firmly ensconced in east London. She sings with the Memory Band, and features on the albums "The Memory Band" and "Apron Strings". Her interpretations of songs have been included on both volumes of Tom Middleton's Crazy Covers albums, and have apparently been played on both Countryfile and Lorraine Kelly Today.

Gareth Dickson (Live)

Dickson’s spent 3 years touring with Vashti Bunyan and has supported Juana Molina, Paul Curreri and Isobel Campbell with Mark Lanegan. Plus DJs and more
