Doucet is in the business for one reason and that's to play music. The songs on Blood's Too Rich reflect the facts of life on the road, the necessarily nomadic life of a touring musician, and what it's like to come home when that home has moved again. Doucet travels roads and musical history, and Blood's Too Rich is also a journey through some of the finest musical influences each decade has to offer.
As a landmark singer-songwriter in the Canadian indie landscape, Doucet has made his name as a first-rate guitarist and creative force, with four solo albums to date.
Luke's song 'Cleveland' was named by Nick Hornby as one of the Top Ten Songs of the Year in 2008, The Independent named the album, Blood's Too Rich, as one of the Best Albums of 2008.

In July 2009, Irish-born singer, songwriter and guitarist Mark Christopher Grassick went into a makeshift studio in a run-down South London hotel with a cobbled together assortment of musicians and producer Paul Hollingsworth. The result was Deer Park, a record of ten country-tinged songs that has received unanimous critical acclaim. Featuring Randi Russo and members of The Oxygen Ponies, Woodpigeon and Stagecoach, it has received airplay across Europe and the US, was called ?Album of the Year? by Diverse Records (Richmond Fontaine, Simone Felice) and has earned comparisons to Richmond Fontaine, Uncle Tupelo, The Hold Steady and Okkervil River. In the year that has followed, Deer Park has evolved at a rate of knots. The noisy lo-fi sound of their debut has given way to a more organic country slant that is no less electrifying. The current line-up features Grassick (vocals, guitar and harmonica), Lizzy O?Connor (vocals, banjo, mandolin and percussion) and Matthew Boulter (lap steel, vocals). Their live shows have earned them new fans at every stop around the UK and Ireland. Along the way, they?ve toured with bands such as The Acorn, Elliott Brood, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, Simone Felice, John Vanderslice, Dan Mangan, The Fruit Bats, Harper Simon and Malcolm Holcombe.
